super furry animal

Miss Selfridge bunny jumper, Primark velvet skirt, faithful Tesco tights, NewLook boots, ASOS faux fur jacket.

The jacket and the boots are my only sales purchases to date; the jacket I ordered on Christmas eve in a fit of “I must own purple faux fur” madness, and the boots I picked up on Saturday for the bargain price of £7 (I call this fate, as I had wanted them at full price, but they never had my size in stock)

I feel a bit self conscious in the jacket, but I’m determined to embrace the “I don’t give a f*** what people think of me” approach this year and wear it regardless; not that it was actually wise to wear it outside yesterday…drowned rat anyone?

Sarenza A-Z: Ash

New year and a new feature for the blog, once again focusing on my new obsession (tights, tights who?) shoes; more specifically shoes from Sarenza, my new go-to for all things footwear.

Each week I’m going to pick my favourite brand for each letter of the alphabet, a guided tour of what I’m lusting after right now. This week, I’m starting with the blogger’s favourite, ASH

The Italian Brand Ash has quickly found its identity. A provocative hint of fun mixed in with a dose of rock has helped Ash grow in the brand we have all come to love. Ash prides itself on offering anything from chic trainers to evening shoes. In doing so they always ensure they have the right material for the right design for the right person. All of these small but relevant details help to seduce of you budding fashionistas”

1. Onyx. I first knew Ash for their leather sport shoes, but further probing led to the discovery they do some pretty killer heels, too! Currently 20% off at £136.00
2. Enigma, £146.30…I never said my taste was cheap! I’d call these a worthy investment, tough leather perfect for night and day. Swoon.

3. Poppy, a great transitional style for those dry winter days (glancing out of the window, today is not one of those days) and for strutting in to spring.

4. Vanna; the leather sports shoe that Ash does so well in goes with everything black. Still pricey at £147.20..but if like me you don’t actually partake in any sports bar shopping (that totally counts, right?) then these should last a lifetime! I’m a firm believer that once your feet stop growing, more expensive shoes are a worthy investment!

5. It must be noted that Ash create some pretty fabulous accessories too. At over £250, the Barbara bag might have to stay firmly on the lust list, but there’s nothing wrong with admiring from afar!

I don’t yet own any shoes by Ash, but I’d love to hear from those that do. Are they a worthy investment? Which pair/s are you coveting?

Shoe Alphabet, yay or nay? Who makes it on to your “A” list?

P.S. good luck to all those braving the elements and going back to work today!

no time for the blues

What I wore for the last day of 2011. River Island dress with faux fur collar (still indecently short and I still don’t care!), NewLook tights and Jeffrey Campbell boots c/o Sarenza…which are now only £48 in the sale!

It’s so strange to suddenly be writing 2012, I’m not a fan of even numbers but I am not letting that be an omen for the year.

I have two weeks off work stretching ahead of me and refuse to let January blues strike me down just because I’m not distracted. Currently plans include shopping, cinema trips, seeing friends and becoming a domestic goddess (soup anyone?)…any other plans for cheap things to do (I realise shopping and cinema make this statement null and void) during this time?

Also, talk to me of iPod touches!

What are you up to on this last day before the real world begins again? Anyone else prone to January blues?

Hold on to hope; trust in yourself; keep an open mind and remember that nothing is ever as bad as it seems.
Wishing you ALL nothing but the very best for 2012, and thank you, sincerely for all the love and support. The blogging community is a wonderful thing (99% of the time) and I’ve made some amazing friends through it.
((Hoping no-one is too hungover today))
