we can’t all be stars

Just a mid-week outfit to fill the gap. I do love a good star print…I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of this dress, depsite having bought a gorgeous floaty chiffon affair from Oasis.

Anyone else struggling with S.A.D. right now? This time of year is so…gloomy. You can’t help but fall in to a lower mood.

Work again today, though overtime this morning means a 10am start! I’m loving been back at work (one of the few people who says that, I bet!) it brings something new every day…and obviously the money/extra hours means I might be able to succumb to the lure of glittery shoes before long.

Bring it on Thursday! Later we’ll have a house full of twenty-something year old band members as my brother has a gig in Bristol tonight. If your around, check it out!

P.S. Giveaway!

A Visit from the Bra Fairy

The wonderful fairy over at Lingerie Please have paid me another visit! Back in September they granted my wish for bigger boobs by sending a gel padded bra,
This time, when they got in touch and asked if I’d like to review something else I said to surprise me with something pretty…and didn’t they do well?

I’m now the owner of the Gossard Desire bra. I’ve never owned anything by Gossard before, assuming that they didn’t cater for the A-cups among us,
but after conversation with Lingerie Please we decided to go down a back size and up a cup size. The result? Perfect fit (and an ego boost!)

“Inspired by gorgeous 1950’s tailoring the Desire Bra has underlying seduction and sensuality that will make you feel like a pin up super star from that decade. Fine details will keep appearing to you the more you look at this beautiful bra. Satin covered removable straps ensure you feel fabulous and make the bra very versatile. The hem is finished by a delicate scalloped edge and the gorgeous polka dot pattern brings a playful edge”

The website only shows the black version, but I was gifted the dusky pink which is just stunning. As ever the service from Lingerie Please was faultless…fast and prettily packaged.

Any other small chested girls have luck with Gossard? Or, anyone in general really! For me, it’s so nice to have grown up bras that don’t look like they come from the children’s section!

Who else loves Lingerie Please? All hail the bra fairy, I say!

Snug

This jumper was purchased (as a gift from my Mum) way back in August whilst browsing in Next. It’s been languishing in my wardrobe ever since, waiting for the colder weather to arrive. Given that it’s blowing a gale outside, and I have no plans to leave the house on my day off it seemed a perfect time to finally wear it.

I love the colours and the stripes, and also the bow near the collar that my photos failed to capture. Next are really killing it right now, there is so much I want! The jumper I wore yesterday was also from there and the prices for both were very reasonable, I think £28 for this dress and £18 for the jumper. I have my eye on some brilliant work dresses, too…and don’t get me started on the shoes and boots.

I should probably note that I am in no way being sponsored by Next for this post, I’m just sharing some love right now.

I hope everyone survived Monday…chin up, four days to the weekend

P.S. Sorry for the influx of posts lately, I’m finally catching up with myself and sharing some long overdue items.

P.P.S. Giveaway going on!

Lucozade Sport Lite (Cherry)

A few weeks ago I recieved a parcel of the latest flavour from Lucozade’s Lite range; Cherry.

Ideal for people wanting to enjoy the lighter side of sport, Lucozade Sport Lite Cherry is the perfect companion for when you’re being active. Whether you love to run, enjoy  a gym class or swim, Lucozade Sport Lite Cherry will help keep you hydrated through your exercise.”

I should probably point out at this point that I am not a sporty person. Not right now, I was once upon a time, and once again hope to be, but right now the most energetic I get is walking around the City Centre on a shopping marathon.
Despite that, I was swayed by the blurb, specifically the “Containing vitamins B3 and B6 to help maintain energy and vitality and Vitamins B5 and B12 to help reduce tiredness and fatigue Lucozade Sport Lite has 70% less sugars than regular sports drinks delivering thirst quenching results in only 50 calories!” part. I don’t think sports drink have to be for sporty types,
Sometimes I could do with a boost of energy within the working day and I don’t always get a chance to make a cup of coffee, or sit and eat a decent snack so I hoped that Lucozade would provide a sort of “make do and mend” approach for those busier days.

And did it?
Well,
it’s hard to say. I’m not usually a big water drinker so it could have just been that I was better hydrated all round, but I did feel refreshed and more alert.

Bonus is it tastes better than water too! I love me some Cherry flavoured things and this tasted far less artificial than sports drinks of the past.

It’s not something I would drink on a daily basis, but if I know I have a busy day, or do ever get back to the gym then this would be my drink of choice.

Lucozade Sport Lite Cherry is available in 500ml singles and 4 x 500ml Multipacks.

Don’t Ask Me

Got a burning question? Want to know how to bake your favourite cake, how to stop your nails splitting or need some relationship advice?

Well, don’t come to me for advice! I’m hopeless. Thankfully we have the Internet, and more specifically Top Tips for Girls which has recently re-launched with a brand new look, blog and fantastic competitions (you can currently win tickets to BINTM Live)

“Top Tips for Girls (TopTipsForGirls.com), the website where women and girls of all ages ask
and receive advice on everything, from how to get pre-approval for a first time home loan to
how to tame a rogue eyebrow, is back online.

The site, which has over 30,000 users, was originally founded four years ago by Kate
Reardon, editor of Tatler magazine. Now, in a joint venture between Reardon and creative
agency, (Beta), TopTipsForGirls.com is online again after a few months’ break.

Roni Dutta has been appointed the site’s new Editor. Formerly editor-in-chief of
iVillage.co.uk, Dutta has also written for bbc.co.uk, The Independent, The Mirror and The
Times Online. She was awarded the Johnson & Johnson award for Best Online Beauty
Journalist in 2008.

“I’m delighted to be working with TopTipsForGirls.com. The fantastic thing about the site
is that it’s a reflection of the very natural way women help each other out in real life – it’s
genuine, heartfelt, and, vitally, very funny .” Said Dutta.

“I’ve got some big, not to mention tremendously stylish, boots to fill, but I’m confident that
together with our loyal community of tipsters we can make TopTipsForGirls.com bigger,
better and even more brilliant. I just can’t wait to get started!”

TopTipsForGirls.com allows women to receive and share tips and advice on relationships,
sex, health, style, beauty, hair, home, gardening, cooking, travel, money, work and pets.
Over the coming months the site will undergo a number of changes, including the addition
of video content, new functionality and a stylish re-design.”

I remember being aware of the site when it first launched, but never really paid it much attention as it wasn’t the easiest, or user friendly site to use. Over the weekend I’ve enjoyed browsing the site (where you can also submit your top tips) and reading the blog articles. I’ve signed up for the newsletter and daily top tip and look forward to some pearls of wisdom coming my way!
