Pink

There was a bit of a theme when it came to my weekend attire…

– casual
– comfortable
– pink.

I still haven’t got over my love for this tee, despite the weather being far from making anything melt (washing away in a flood would have been more apt)

Yesterday I dug out an old favourite Topshop sale purchase. I can’t remember how long ago I bought this now…possibly 3 or 4 years ago and I think it was £10. I don’t wear it enough, sometimes it makes me feel a bit like a child in a pinafore dress, but it’s alllll good. The tights were a recent purchase in the Accessorize sale. Despite being on a constant tights ban, I just can’t resist a new shade, or a bargain price.

I’m pretty sure nothing can spoil my good mood this week, despite it being crazily chaotic. Knowing I have an entire week off next week, with some awesome plans with my favourite people (hi there Becca and Trudi) is enough to pull me through.

I’m also damn excited to being getting my hair back to full on red tomorrow…my bank account isn’t though.

Sunday Loving…Dreaming in Sheer

This week I’ve developed an obsession with all things sheer. Fuelled perhaps by the Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture Collection (I know, I’m not normally one for runway photos, but damnnnnn)

(photo from style.com)

Topping my wish list is this Cheap Monday skirt via ASOS

Set off with gorgeous girly blusher from Topshop (I don’t think I’ve yet raved about how much I LOVE their blusher)

And worn with the Rayban Cats 1000, also via ASOS

Favourite Couture show?

What’s captured your heart this week?

Take this as your chance to rave about what you love…who knows, I may end up discovering something else to blog about…(why yes, self promotion IS allowed)

Snacking Saturday; the tongue twister

Ok, so there seems to be a theme to my Snacking Saturday reviews lately. I am a fully fledged popcorn addict. Another new to me brand is Peter Popples Popcorn (I challenge you to say that five times fast!). I’d seen buzz around these guys on various sites around the net over recent weeks and got in touch to find out more and where I could get my hands on their products, a few days later a taster pack was on my doorstep and I got stuck in. It seriously lasted me just over 24 hours. It was that good.

The packaging for the popcorn is so simple but really, really cute! The bags seem on the small side but actually contain a pretty decent snack portion and each contain around 80 calories (hence why I ate them two at a time!)
I loved the unique range of flavours, although I did wonder how on earth a couple of them could possibly work! The flavours in the Peter Popple range are;

– Golden Syrup; this was probably my most highly anticipated flavour. It wasn’t quite what I expected…the taste of the syrup wasn’t as sweet as I had hoped, and for the first few bites I wasn’t sure if I actually liked it. Being the trooper I am, I carried on and really found myself enjoying the pack. I really don’t know how to explain this…oddly addictive I think!

– Cheddar Cheese; I know, I am a disgrace to the human race but I do.not.like. cheddar. However, I did really REALLY like this popcorn, so if you are a cheese lover you will love it, and cheese haters (if there are any others out there) don’t be put off. You may disown me now, but I did dip a couple of pieces of this in marmite. Too damn good.

– Salt and Vinegar; I thought this would be more salty than it was. I am a salt fiend but I found the almost sweet tang on the vinegar really good against the popcorn and the salt came as more of an undertone. Another one of those addictive flavours. It’s probably just as well it doesn’t come in a bigger bag (purely for portion control purposes).

– Fruit Chutney; the flavour I was most anxious to try and what initially drew me to the brand. So bizarre, it instantly sounded good to my head. And it was. I cannot elaborate. There are not enough words in the English language as to how good this was, you really do just need to trust me and try it for yourself.

My only complaint about the range was that some of the popcorn wasn’t as fresh tasting as it could have been. This seemed randomly mixed throughout the bags though, and I wonder if it’s more due to the distribution of the flavour and what I tasted as stale was just a bit under-seasoned. It certainly didn’t put me off polishing off the lot (and yes, I did use my fingers to get out the tiny escaped bits of flavouring!)

All the flavours and ingredients in the popcorn are natural, making a truly guilt free treat! Currently available to buy online and I believe they are expanding to selected retailers too. Keep your eyes peeled guys. Peter Popple is a genius, I hope the flavour range becomes expanded..I want more!

Have I turned anyone else in to a popcorn maniac lately? Have you tried Peter Popple?

What kind of products/features would you like to see on Snacking Saturday? I’m keen to keep this section running (like it or not!) so any feedback is welcomed. This girl LOVES to snack.

Dress down Friday

It seems to be general consensus that on Friday one is entitled to  dress a little more casually for work (whilst still keeping it decent). With that in mind I’ve opted for classic trousers paired with a more slouchy top than I would usually wear…

Of course, it is pouring with rain. The footwear will be switched for boots and changed hastily on arrival. A cardigan and full on water proof will be added, and by the time I get to work I will probably still look like a drowned rat and have eyeliner down my face and my hair scraped back. Oh how I just love British summer time.

The trousers are from the now defunct Jane Norman. An absolute steal at £12. The top is another of the £5 basics from Topshop. Bonus that the tall range was included in the offer so no belly showing for me!

Apologies for the somewhat lacklustre attempts at blogging this week, one way or another it’s turned out to be a mad one, and I am looking forward to a weekend of doing nothing. At all. Except maybe sleep. And catch up on home things.

7 days till my week off…let the count down begin!

1/3

This outfit is actually the first of three I put on this morning; after taking the photos the weather changed. And then it changed again. The trousers were deemed un-suited to walking through puddles and I was freezing in the top. But this is the outfit I have pictures of, so this is the outfit being posted.
Anyone else suffering from this at the moment? When I got up it was sunny, then pouring rain…now overcast and threatening. I’ve ended up in one of my dresses that I wear at least once a week; work probably think I don’t own anything else!
The photos kind of sum up the trouble with the weather and the lighting issues it causes me, too….Ah well, tis almost the weekend (it can’t come soon enough).
