Friday Friday Friday

Double joy for it being the end of another working week for me. Four and a half hour shift this morning then I am officially on holiday for a week! I’ve decided against making plans, what I am really craving is some peace, quiet and relaxation. I have grand plans of experimenting with some baking, and playing with my new Slow Cooker (yeah, that’s how exciting my life is)…and of course, there will be the obligatory shopping trip in Bath to round off the week nicely.

As you can see, I still don’t have the hang of my camera settings, but this is what I wore for work yesterday. It was the most beautiful day so loose and cool was on the agenda. These trousers have become a staple of mine and the top is another of those hidden gems that I found lurking away.

Made the most of the weather by having a Birthday picnic tea in the park, as my Trudi turned 24. We’ve been on about a picnic for ages, so abandoned plans of cooking dinner together for lazing in the sunshine and setting the world to rights.
We could have done without the drama of a car being on fire at the top of my road as we made a move home…it was actually really scary. I am terrified of fire! Thankfully the passengers got out safely!

Just a couple of silly pictures to round off with. I am so in love with my vibrant hair colour at the moment; although my white pillow cases beg to differ! I hope the weather holds till later as I have plans with the gorgeous Becca. My two best friends in quick succession? I love life.

Happy Friday all

I have no witty title.

I’m pretty sure that if I tried hard enough I could come up with some shoe related pun, but as my obsession has yet to fade and doesn’t look likely to any time soon, I figured it could wait.
This time the target of my obsession is Chie Mihara who up until a few months ago I didn’t even know about. One of those brands that is just far enough out of my price range to maybe one day be affordable (unlike the Louboutins, Prada and Chanel that will remain dreams, and only dreams) the clunky, chunky look of these scream “wear me with everything” year round.

This is the Falco pair, quite possibly the perfect example of my dream work shoe. With bare legs and a midi skirt for now, and with thick tights and knitted dresses when we are plunged in to winter.

Edesa, yellow. A shoe colour so often overlooked, these look like they could be paired with practically anything. High enough to keep trouser hems out of puddles, too.

The Falla shoes make me want to retract my previous statement about dream work shoes. I can’t make up my mind which I prefer, of these and the lace ups. Clearly the only solution is to win the lottery, or elope with some un-suspecting doctor and get both pairs.

And if I’m planning to splash out, what harm would Ethel do as well? Summer sandals in autumn colours…

Oh help.

What’s caught your eye?
Who has a grand plan for getting rich, quick?

A Shade Braver

I’m fully fledged red head once more! After a chat with the stylist we decided to go a shade darker than last time, as the colour has less copper in it, meaning as it fades I shouldn’t go as orange! Win. Ever since I first went red (not that long ago) I decided I had finally found the colour for me. Something about the rich, vibrant hue brings about a new sense of confidence. One cannot be shy and retiring with hair this shade.

Not the most flattering of photos, but hey…it’s early!

Teamed with bold colours galore. Making the most of an unusual late start to the working day so I can take a trip to a long awaited appointment.

What hair colour do you feel most comfortable with? Has having a change affected your attitude/personality?

To those who have expressed concern for my well-being, I’m fine. Temporary blip which I’m working my ass off to correct.

Buried Treasure

Don’t you just love finding an old favourite lurking in your wardrobe? This dress was under a pile of clothes to be sorted (story of my life) and the shoes were hiding at the back of my collection.

It does worry me somewhat that I always seem to be finding forgotten items…I swear I clear my wardrobe out every few months…
I think I’m going to have to dedicate a day next week to being absolutely ruthless and having a “once and for all” sort out.

Ignore the crazy fringe. I’m off to the hairdresser shortly.

What have you re-found lately?

Gardens to Go

Once upon a time, way back in May (seriously, it feels like a lifetime ago) I posted about Nature Valley’s Gardens to Go Competition

The winners have now been selected (if anyone wants the full winner’s list, please let me know) and tomorrow, July 13th these gardens will be made up for real and dropped in secret locations around London on Wednesday 13th July. There will be 5 secret locations around London, with 10 gardens dropped off per place. The gardens are there for anyone who wants them, so you can take them home to keep!

The Treasure Hunt will be taking place all across Twitter (@NatureValleyUK) during the day on Wednesday the 13th where clues, pictures and lots of other fun will be tweeted out.  To highlight the Gardens To Go Treasure hunt, The wonderful outdoor artist Anna Garfourth is creating some great Tube Map signs out of foliage. You can check out some of Anna’s incredible work here and I’ll totally be posting her amazing sounding creations after the event.

I can’t make the event personally (see, I told you I should have taken this week off) but I’d love to know if any of you guys make it there, and whether you grab a garden for yourselves! I’ll be at work all day so won’t be able to tweet many of the clues, but make sure your following Nature Valley and do me proud!

The response to the widget on my blog, for the free bars was amazing. I hope you all enjoyed your delicious treats!

A taster of what’s to come from Anna. She is seriously incredible!
