…and this weekend it hit me, just how much fun I’ve missed out on because I have been too afraid. It’s not going to be easy, but this is where the fun starts.

A VERY exciting competition

Very.co.uk has today announced its hunt to find the nation’s best fashion advisor to join a panel of style experts, each with a chosen style specialism. The search, spearheaded by celebrity designer, Fearne Cotton, is to be part of the new Very V-Team – a panel of five experts who will give customers style advice and conduct monthly makeovers.

Working alongside top fashion stylist, Kirsty Drury, interior stylist Sally Cullen, makeup artist Gini Bogado and Cate Sevilla, a tech expert, the lucky fashionista will assume the V-Styler title and win a £50,000 package in return for being part of the team and will benefit from additional perks suchs as attending top fashion events throughout the year and even helping design a range which will be sold online at Very.co.uk.

Celebrity fashionista and Very.co.uk’s own designer Fearne Cotton announces the search for the nation’s most style savvy fashion advisor saying, “I think the Very.co.uk V-Styler competition is a fantastic idea. Everybody knows someone who just always gets it right style-wise. It’s brilliant that somebody with that obvious talent and eye for detail is going to get the chance to make a career for themselves out of their knack for knowing what’s chic and suits others.”

The competition is open for the next four weeks and will be run via facebook – enabling people to vote for the person they would most like to win the title of ‘V-Styler’ and join this leading V-Team.

How to enter:

v ‘Like’ Very.co.uk’s Facebook page

v Enter via the competition tab by uploading a picture from your existing Facebook photos

v Describe why you would be Very’s perfect fashion advisor

v Start collecting your votes!

v Watch out for further opportunities for you to get people to vote for you

The competition closes on Wednesday 6th July with the top three entries with the most votes then being invited to Very HQ to tell the panel more about their fabulous unrivalled fashion advisor skills.

A wildcard finalist will also be selected for that extra chance to win this amazing competition.

The competition will culminate in the lucky winner being announced at a grand finale at an exclusive event in London in July.

The V-Styler search is being launched to announce the introduction of the ‘V-Team’, a panel of
experts which are now on hand to give Very customers style advice. The team will be posing a style dilemma each month and if you face the same problem you could be in the running to win a personal makeover, courtesy of the V team.

SO If you think you one of the nations best dressed, fashion advisor extraordinaire and can out-style the most dedicated fashionista, enter via the Very.co.uk’s Facebook page with an image of yourself and a description of why you should be selected as Very’s V-Styler.

Good luck!

We all Love a Wedding

As April 29th proved, we all love a good wedding! Summer is prime time for the exchanging of vows; everyone wants to make the most of the supposed sunshine. I’m now at that age where friends are getting engaged, which means at some point I will be (hopefully) attending weddings, which has of course got me thinking “what the heck will I wear?”

A few months ago I blogged about Girl Meets Dress and I have been in e-mail contact with them ever since. The other day we were talking about weddings, and they have kindly sent over an article with some style advice (as well as gorgeous dresses!)

Look sophisticated in this off-white floor length one-shoulder gown by Lolita Karma. The black and yellow sash that runs across the body adds a twist to an otherwise plain dress, and rescues it from the precarious territory of being a bit-too-bridal.

Go for bold, and embrace all things ‘colour pop’ in this Harlow maxi dress by the much talked about Gorgeous Couture. With rouched shoulders, a draped bodice, and daring cutaway hip detailing, this dress will ensure you make a luxurious statement. A jacket and clutch is all you need for you outfit to be wedding ready!

Be fun and feathery in this demure Amee Lou Francisca dress. The ostrich feather detail and
playful hemline keeps the look light and keeps it from being overly formal.

For a dress that really does have the magic touch, turn to the Butter By Nadia slate dress.
Dubbed the ‘miracle dress’ among other nicknames, the dress is able to be wrapped in
countless ways, and ‘miraculously’ will fit a size 6 to a 16! Feel great and look sexy whatever
your size in this fabulously versatile dress.

Still not sure? The good news is GirlMeetsDress have even more dresses, found in their wedding guest dress section!

Hiring a dress for any occasion is even cheaper with the GirlMeetsDress membership scheme, that allows you to rent any one dress each month no matter the price, for just £39! So a dress that would cost £200 to hire, you can have for less than £40!

And in the meantime it’s back to weddings: here’s to the bride and groom. And of course, to you and your dress!

Just a Note: I just wanted to make it clear that although GMD provided this post for me, I received no payment, and will receive no payment should you wish to hire a dress! I’ve had a few reader requests for a wedding outfit helped post, so this seemed the perfect opportunity. I would personally use GMD if, and when I go to a wedding, far better than spending a fortune on a dress I will only ever wear once (because that’s how I roll).

I hope you find this post useful. Big thank you to GMD for providing the content; every post you see this weekend is scheduled due to me actually getting a life…so it has been a big help!

perfect remedy

So, you know how Wednesday was re-named the day from hell? Thursday was the most perfect remedy. The weather gods smiled on Becca and I and we ventured over to a town near me to explore (well, it was new to Becca). Ignoring the fact I got us super lost on the way home; NEVER expect me to be able to locate anywhere, no matter how many times I have been! It was awesome.

We shall here-by be known as the “2p slot machine queens”. Fact.

Outfit wise, I pulled out my trusty converse and velvet shorts and teamed them with a rabbit print tee from Uniqlo

I WAS going to be really brave and go bare legged, but for June…it’s bloody baltic out there!
So tights it was.

Other than winning our fortune, other highlights included Becca getting told off in the arcade, finding Fanta icy lemon Zero and me teaching Becca how to pose like a blogger!

…back to reality for a day now, before the fun starts all over again; sleepover included!
