insanity

Insanity is how I’d describe this week. It is so busy and chaotic in all directions but fingers crossed by next week normal, semi-calm service will be resumed.

I came home from work yesterday at a point of mental exhaustion where all I could think of to do was cry.
I didn’t cry. Nope. I was greeted with a box, containing this, from my darling friends at London Wishes

BALLOONS! (A sure fire way to win my heart), a beautiful and touching handwritten card and a gift certificate to name my own rose.

Thank you girls, I wasn’t expecting that at all.

Outfit wise I went for a now ancient (in terms of most things in my wardrobe) dress. The temperatures at work in no way correlate with what the weather outside is doing so dressing for the office can be a bit of a nightmare, hence I find myself wearing the same things over and over.

And I still can’t get the hang on the shoulders on the dress!
(Yes, I know, it’s short. I can’t help that unless I chop a few inches off each leg, or shops start bearing that not everyone wants to flash their arse at the world).

SO close to the weekend guys. SO close.

Wanting.

A few simple wants on this fine Wednesday.

– Work to calm down just a little. I am exhausted after just one day back!

– To work out my camera settings for outfit photos

Photobucket

– For all my photos to be as clear as this (necklace from Matalan)

Photobucket

– For Flash to stop plotting against the world (and depositing mud on my bed)

Photobucket

– To be this talented (a birthday gift from my doll Eloise)

Photobucket

– These trousers (River Island via ASOS)

Photobucket

– Not not have such a raging dependence on sugar and caffeine and to be able to quit smoking just.like.that. (imagine me snapping my fingers)

– For every day to be pay day

– For you to carry on voting!

– Everyone to be having a fabulous week so far.

A Good Old Bean.

Confession…I did not participate in any Royal Wedding Celebrations. Yes, I drooled over the dress, but that was about it. I think I was so over-saturated with the hype that I let the big day pass me by (and I admit now, I regret it).
I thought it unlikely that anything Royal Wedding related would catch my attention, but forgot the power of Twitter and my friends over at Bean Cellar.
You see,
they tweeted that they were munching on Royal Wedding themed jelly beans. I replied in disgust, that I had no jelly beans (I have a serious addiction) and seconds later I had an e-mail, and a couple of days later I have this.

Genius. Utter genius.

For those who don’t know, Bean Cellars are a website dedicated to all things jelly bean! Their quirky bottles of beans make the perfect present for all occasions and you can also buy by the flavour (right up to 4.5kg which is like, a weeks supply, right?)
The prices are fantastic, starting at £2.99 for a bottle of individual flavour beans.

Is there any better way to thank a friend?

Or say Happy Birthday?

My flavour of choice. I know, I’m in the minority here but OH MY SO GOOD!

Check out the shop for the full range of gifts. What’s your flavour?

P.S. Bean Cellars did not ask me to write this post. I’m doing it because I love them and I LOVE jelly beans.

Think Pink

I tweeted a few days ago that I couldn’t resist the lure of Zara. I’ve been after some bright trousers for a while now [oh yes, a fully fledged trouser convert] and with the encouragement of my friends [we only went out for coffee, not spending!] I purchased these hot pink ones for £19.99. They come in a tempting array of colours; blue, green and I think, orange too. I might get another pair or two, I know Mum wants the green ones, we could collect them all!

I’ve never actually bought trousers in Zara before. I’ve always been wary because their sizes come up quite small…these are such a fantastic fit I’m thinking of trying some jeans there next.

Worn with another recent purchase…over-sized cardigan from ASOS. Come back Summer warmth.

as you can see, I still haven’t worked out my camera settings!

Continuing on the pink theme…HELLO KITTY cereal, it’s actually PINK! Found by my gorgeous girl Leanne in poundland!

Dry cereal is the way forwards!

Flash was feeling the pink too, he didn’t move off my bed all day!

Well, the long weekend is officially over and I’ve given up my day off to go in to work. Dedication! As someone who thrives on being busy, I’m secretly relieved although it means I don’t get to see Becca until the weekend [sorry Becca!]

Are you back to work too?

What is your favourite cereal? I am OBSESSED!

Pullin Pants

Firstly a massive apology to tights please for the delay in getting this post up. You see, when I volunteered to review a pair of Spanx, I didn’t really think it through and for someone who struggles with their body image badly, the idea of seeing what I *could* be, whilst trying to accept myself for who I am caused a bit of a battle.
In the end my Mum stepped in, all too eager to get her hands on the package that arrived…and so here we are, almost a week later with a joint effort review!

Spanx power panties are the ultimate Waist Cincher aiming to give an all over smoother look and pull you in where it matters most.
What we liked most was the cycling shorts design, more substantial than body shaping tights and discreet enough to wear under a flimsy skirt in place of a slip (a real selling point for Mum). The extensive size guide made it easy to get the perfect fit and unlike some support wear, they were easy to get on and off.

Now, the before and after shots. Mum doesn’t need anything in the way of Waist Cincher support so you don’t get the best example of how great these are.

Before

Photobucket

This is a skirt she never wears due to it’s clingy and unforgiving nature.

After

Photobucket

VERY impressed with the smooth finish these gave. She’s stashed them away far from my reach so she can wear the skirt more often.

We would definitely opt for Spanx again, they certainly live up to the hype surrounding their name.

If you want to give these a try you’ll find them available on Tights Please (a.k.a. Laura’s personal heaven)
