Animal Instinct

In a complete contrast to yesterday, today I’m mooching around in jeans and a jumper…both from Next and both via Mum’s wardrobe (cheers Mum!)

I’m not sure Mum will be getting this jumper back, actually. It’s so comfortable and I love the Zebra print; an animal print I’d previously ignored in favour of the more popular Leopard.

Here’s a bit of eye candy for you, too! X-Factor Winner Matt Cardle rocking a Matalan suit at the X-Factor after party.

Told ya Matalan was rocking it right now! What do you think? Please tell me I’m not the only one a teensy bit in love with Matt!

Double Velvet and Christmas Baking

My lust for velvet is insatiable. Last week I picked up this red bodycon dress in New Look for £5, although it’s far too short to wear as a dress, so I teamed it with my Primark velvet skirt

I’m ignorning the fact that wearing double velvet makes me sound like a toilet roll.

I also discovered a vintage velvet dress in my wardrobe that I had forgotten about, so that’ll probably be showcased some time soon, and Mum is meant to be making me a velvet skirt when she has time! We bought the fabric back around Easter!

Re-coloured the hair yesterday, it came out darker, and less red than expected but I like it. It’s warm and perfect for this time of year.

And finally today I had a chance to bake. I’m learning to do it for fun now, instead of as an obsession and my only regret is that I haven’t enough time to do as much as I’d like…I’m going to make it a new years resolution to get back in to it!
However, today I made spiced and coco shortbread. It may not look pretty (despite edible glitter) but it tastes, and smells AMAZING.

I used this recipe, from one of my favourite foodie magazines…

I’m not sure I’ll get a chance to make anything else this side of Christmas but watch out for new recipes in the new year!

Have you done any festive baking? I’d love recipes!

Richard Parker- free EP

You might remember a few weeks ago I did a post on the amazing band Richard Parker. These guys are ON FIRE and now have their first EP available for free download!

They’ve also been gigging around and I predict BIG things for these guys next year. To stalk them (and maybe pop along to a gig) you can follow them on Tumblr and facebook for all the latest!

(gold star for anyone who can guess which one is related to me!)

Hippie?

Upon asking if I looked okay today, my Dad replied with “you hippie”. Compliment or not, I’m taking it as one and rolling with it.
I love this dress, I still can’t believe it’s from Next kids. Never ignore the kids section…they have hidden gems and it’s often much cheaper, too!

Today I’m off pottering with Mum, we have the best little adventures! I’m also hoping to find time to make some spiced shortbread this week, and maybe something else! I can’t keep track of the days, they are whizzing by!

Monday

Hello, Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend? What did you get up to? We put our tree up on Saturday,
what it lacks in size, it makes up for in pretty-ness!

Yesterday I met up with two of the lovely girls I met over the Summer for a spot of shopping and catching up, that was FUN, especially as I hadn’t seen one of them for three months.

Today I’m again making the most of the slightly warmer temperatures (and central heating!) and wearing what I *want* to. I spied snow on the forecast for the end of the week so I’m making the most of it!

This dress was an absolute steal at £3 in the New Look sale a couple of years ago. I love it…it’s ridiculously comfortable.

I teamed it with possibly my favourite tights ever, courtesy of Tabio (who currently have free UK delivery).

And I’m back on the crazy hair.

It’s going redder this week, I’m excited!

What are your plans for the week ahead? I’m hoping to fit in some long over-due baking, it’s been a fair old while since I did some, and since I shared some recipes around on the blog!
